This picture is taken by one of the famous photographer Walker Evans.
He is well known for his works that shows rural poverty in Great Depression.
I think the picture of his own family titled, "Bud Fields and His Family" taken in
Hale County, Alabama, strongly illustrate the atmosphere of the era.

Through their face expression, the place, and the clothes shown in the picture
prove me how desperate and miserable the situation was in Great Depression.
Especially the face expression of the kid standing between the parents makes me feel
something more than just looking at her. I can not find any hope and dream through her eyes
evern though all the children in her age suppose to have full of shining future in their eyes and smiles.
It was the poverty that have stolen her happiness from not only her but also her family.
Since most of us are living in our lives with affluece and wealth, it is hard to be in those people's shoes,
who is struggle from poverty. However we should always be aware there is another side in our world
more than we usually see and experience. Therefore we should always be glad with what we have.
