As I was looking for an internet article on poverty, i came across an interesting story of a person that was in poverty. This person's mom is from Mexico, and came to America as an illegal immigrant. She had left Los Angeles to avoid her criminal-related father. Now, the fact that his person is an illegal immigrant, immediately tells me that his family left Mexico for a person; to make money. I'm not surprised that an illegal immigrant came to America to make money. After all, America is "the land of all dream." However, this person, Henry Cejudo, is rather a sucessful one. He was the first one at age of 21 to win the gold medal for 121-pound freestyle restling.
I can not imagine how hard it would be to get an olympic gold medal when one is in poverty. As far as I know, there are hardly anyone that could be so sucessful when he was in poverty. There is a model called a poverty cycle. Basically, what it is is that people lack education, money, house, and health. Therefore, the person can not get enough money to pay for education, shelter, and their health all at the same time. Most of the time, they can not get a decent job because they're not smart enough. I think since this article is just a story, there can't be any biased information. However, it's very clever to write these stories on the internet because since this is one of the most used mass media available, thousands of people will be reading this, incouraging them to keep trying hard and accomplish their goal. I think this is how mass media can deliver their theme or the message.
